If it's the same as 1989, it is 11x15.5".

Re: 1992 50hp Force prop

I think the only diameter available is 10 3/8".. The highest pitch available would be 14 1/2" The same props would be used on 50Hp splined shaft models from 82-94.

I am pushing a 21ft pontoon, and I don't know the numbers on my prop. I also have no way to measure WOT. But I am fairly sure I am running the OE prop. I have line on a great deal for a 11 1/2 pitch prop that I am looking at for a new primary prop.

Hmm. I'm not much of a prop guy, but I think you will be sorely dissapointed with the smaller pitch. How bad is your original?
I had mine reconditioned and it is like new,and only cost 28.35 to have it done.
If it's a really good deal, tho,by all means, get the 11.5pitch,and try it. And
if what I predict (let me re-emphysize, I'm no prop guy by any stretch), the performance suffers, at least you have it for a spare. I keep mine in the bildge, allong with extra shearpin and cotter, in the event the hub spins.
These engines are notorious for spinning the hub, which will leave you with only idle speed if you are lucky.
I bought my 50HP from my father's estate,and
he spun the hub 3 times that i know of. However it hasn't happened to me yet (on the 50).

Re: 1992 50hp Force prop

The reason for looking at the lower pitch is that I am guessing I am overpropped for the load, because face it, a pontoon is for parties. I don't feel that it is revving high enough and am afraid that I am stressing this engine. I plan on using a shop tach this summer to see where I am at with RPM, but at this point I can buy the prop , which is very slightly used, for less than your reconditioning.

WOW! That IS a good deal!!!!
Heck yes, go for it
And I would come to the same coclusion on
being overpropped, and RPMs suffer.
My 50HP is on a 17foot B/R, and it takes
all the way to plane speed for the RPMs to
reach max. This is the same engine, stock prop, so that kinda tells it all.

Shoot, my 14' Bayliner with a Force 50 and a 12 1/2 pitch prop only goes 24 mph...

These motors run well, but they're not powerhouses.
