Afternoon,

New here, but I was hoping someone could tell me what Model boat this is. Year is 1992, Make is Avalon, but the owner does not know the model or maybe it's just a 21 foot Avalon Cubby Cabin and that is it? I have no knowledge of Avalon . Not aware of a model number or anything like that as well. Any assistance is much appreciated!

Thank you,

Leavii

Context as to why I ask may help I suppose :D

As the buyer I want to know the boats worth and it needs a Bimini top. Would like to do some research on it before I buy is all but cannot find another Avalon like it.

Find the Hull ID Number (HIN) which should be molded into the boat on the starboard side of the transom area . . . usually just below the rubrail. Post the first 4 digits (or the whole number if you like)

This will give us some more information on the manufacturer.

what does it say on the title/registration?

being a 1992, be aware, you may have wet foam in it. seriously look in the bilge at the stringers

What's that last picture showing? In the cuddy? Is that bare plywood???

Not knowing the history of the boat I'm curious as the carpet looks relatively new, so do the seats/doghouse. Would be questioning this as it has all the appearances of a "lipstick on a pig" type of boat. Something that would be raising flags for me. Could be completely off base but I'd proceed with caution.

As for the Bimini...you can buy aftermarket anywhere. Just measure what you need. Iboats should sell them or take it to your favorite upholstery shop I'm sure they can do something for $$$$.

Thank you all for your replies. I must have notifications off as I never got email that I had responses so I apologize for my late response here.

The model on the title is a 215, and it has a mercruiser 3.0 115HP. I will look for the HIN number when I next look at the boat.

As for the Cuddy it does look like plywood in the picture, but that is the fabric pattern on the cushions inside. Yesterday we ran it with the muffs on for about 30 minutes, but wasn't able to take it to a lake to test it. Sunday I will be taking it out to see how it does on the water.

It has been garage kept from 94-2017 by the same owner. He sold it to a close friend (current seller) in 2017, but never moved the registration over, so I had been waiting on the original seller to sign the title.

Thank you all again for your help!

So Gale Marine LLC?

Well not actually . . .

These 2 companies also had that MIC code (first 3 of the HIN) previously.
Previous Company 1:GLOBAL MOTORBOAT CORPORATION (OOB)
Previous Company 2:GENERAL MARINE CORPORATION (OOB)

Gale Marine started using it in 2013, whereas your boat is 1992 (via the "J192" suffix to your HIN) (October 1, 1992 would be the manufacture date). So, it is a matter of seeing when General Marine and Global Motorboat used that MIC code (GME).

It looks like 'Global Motorboat Corporation' was using that MIC code in 1992 (1991-1993). So, prior to that it was General Marine Corp.

Not much information that I could find about Global Motorboat, there is some NADA values listed for 1993. . .

jbcurt00 Thank you for the link!

The boat did well on the water Sunday. Started right up ran fine over 2 hours, everything seems to be working for now so we ended up getting it. I figured being MY first boat it would be okay to see how the wife, and kids like it. Tried cleaning the mold/mildew stains off the seats with some CLR Mold/Mildew cleaner but it didn't pull the stains out. Got a few different cleaners still to try, and some 303 for when I'm done. Of course am open to suggestions that I may have missed in my Google search. :D

tpenfield Thanks again!

30 year old seats...... those stains are permanent. most likely mold coming thru from the cushions.

BTW, vinyl seats usually last a max of 15 years. the vinyl itself is only rated by the manufacturer for about 7-8 years

tpenfield Got them clean! Really wish I had before pictures, but my wife and I went to town on these things with a cleaner she found online and it worked great.

We tried several things with no success, but this took the mold stains right off. Let it set for a few seconds, then sprayed it off and dried them with a microfiber towel.
