I recently purchased this boat from a man in Tennessee. In TN they do not require the trailer to be registered so it isnt registered. I live in NC and we do have to register the trailer here. I went to look for the trailer vin number to get a title for it and the sticker where it is supposed to be at is faded and you can not read the number. It is the original trailer that came with the boat also. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can find this number or if it is located somewhere else on the trailer? Thanks in advance for any help.

Hey Danny,

Hmmmm - I thought there was supposed to be a stamped number in the front end somewhere - besides the one on the foil stamp.
If not then you might look into registering it as a homemade unit. I know some states will require you have a receipt for the materials to make a trailer - might be worth looking into. I could only see it being an issue for a future sale.
Better yet, just tow the whole thing down to the DMV and let them figure it out.

Just had the same problem - The DMV had me fill out some paperwork and include a picture of the trailer - then they will send me a new VIN number for the trailer - Once I stamp it on the trailer, they will physically inspect it, and issue title on the trailer.
