Hello everyone,
I am considering the purchase of a Cranchi Clipper with 2x 431A Volvo Penta V6s with DP drives (the owner believes they're 290DPs?). The boat was always used in fresh water and last saw the water in September, 2010. At the time it was winterised, wrapped and put in a storehouse, where it still sits.
I am wondering what the proper procedure to test it is. Everyone I've talked to is under the impression that once levels are checked and new batteries brought in, it should be fine for a 10-minute test (in the water), which should tell me what I need to know, i.e. if there are any major problems that need attention.
Is this realistic? The owner just wants to get rid of the boat and is unwilling to shoulder any 'summerizing' costs.
