Before replacing the water pump on this engine there was water coming from along the gear case split line. The water pump was working fine but since the motor is new to me and had been setting for some time I wanted to check the condition of the impellor. After replacing the water pump and cranking the engine I have a lot of water coming from along the gearcase to lower housing split line. The water pump is working as advertised and cylinder head temp is about 145 with ear muffs. No other outboard I have owned has done this. My first suspect is the lower exhaust housing gasket. Have any of you ran into this issue? Is it normal for Evinrude or is it something to be concerned about?
