So I finally (3 years later) got my boat in water. Noticed a little leak through the bow eye and a couple other concerns. One being an oil tank reservour in the closed off area between the 2 rear seats (im sure there is a proper name for this area that i do not know). I have searched this topic endlessly and only results that come up are oil injected engines. So questions are.. 1) why is this there? My engine is not oil injected. Is it to draw extra oil if there isn't enough in my premixed gas? 2) it seems to have gotten lower on her first time out. Not by much, but lower. Does this mean I'm not mixing enough oil with the gas? Sorry if this seems like a dumb question but i am lost. Thank you for your guys time in advance.

No STOCK Force outboard engine ever used oil injection. The tank was probably there from the original engine installed. OR, the original owner did try to jury rig an additional oil injection. Just mix your oil at one pint for every six gallons of gas. If you have a built-in tank, just try to be close. It doesn't need to be exact.

HOWEVER--- SOME Force engines used in jet drive boats DID have a mechanical oil injection system

Hmmm. Interesting. It looks legit. Has a red button next to it. If I press it the alarm goes off. I guess thats to test the alarm incase the reservour goes dry. I'm curious if I should remove it? Why is it there? I'll post some pictures tomorow. Maybe someone can give me some insight.

I do mix 50:1 in a built in tank. It's a 92 bayliner capri 1800 so I'm pretty sure the force 120 came with it

Well. I hope this is a force. Because all the force 120 parts I ordered fit it :).

This puts me in a weird situation because I honestly thought it was from the factory. Today is a very crappy day here. I want to really get in there and see where the lines go but everything is wet. Any help would be apreciated.

That's a Mercury oil tank.
The boat manufacturer installed it for the original motor.
The Force doesn't need it.
I'd take it out and pull the hoses and everything.
Empty it and clean it real good and ship it to me. :)
Just kidding, put it on e-bay.
Or if you got lots o room keep it for "just in case"

What other outboard came with a 1992 bayliner capri besides force? Can anyone tell me the year of this engine if it's not the original?

Thats a Mercury Autoblend unit and was possibly installed by the previous owner/dealer as they were offered as a accessory .. Remove and throw it as far as possible as these are know for many engine failures

Ok. I'm sorry for the constant questions but can someone tell me more about it? Where does this even hook up to? Should I just unhook it and cap the line off? Why does it cause engine failures? Do people only use this and do not premix the gas?
