1992 Johnson 60HP will not crank

Just purchased a 60 HP Johnson it keeps blowing a 20 amp fuse that goes to starter I think ? and has no power to tilt and trim. I know very little about outboards and just ordered a manual, but was hoping someone could help. Thanks in advance.

if you are speaking of the 20 amp inline fuse, it goes to the controller, unplug the wiring harness, and jump the solenoid. look for bare wires, shorting out. also could be bad ignition switch.

I have a 1992 Evunrude 60hp and I had to rebuild the whole controls. Fairly easy motor to work on. Get a manual off of Ebay.
