1992 Johnson more power?

Have a 1992 johnson 200 model #vj200slnes on a<br />20' stratos bass boat,just wondering where to go<br />to gain more power on this engine.225 carbs &<br />reeds?

Welcome!!<br /><br />Lets start at the beginning. Tell us more about your set up. Whats the top rpm with your average load? What speed (be accurate!)? What pitch prop? What brand / style prop? Jackplate? If so, manual or hydraulic?<br /><br />How does your rig respond to trim now? Whats the water pressure? How does it handle at speed?

I have tried several props,when i would get 1<br />that would only turn the engine 5300-5500 rpm<br />the boat wouldnt hardly get on plane,but once it did it ran great,the boat has a manual jackplate<br />& right now i have it all the way down & have a <br />24 pitch omc holeshooter on it,i moved my trolling batteries & charger to the front of the boat & it gets on plane good now but have the <br />weight up front & can only trim so far,i dont<br />know how fast it will run just know some smaller<br />boats with 150's seem to run as fast or faster.
