If it's a rochester 4BBl it's probably leaking at the plug wells
And the webers have different issues, but the same empty fuel bowls......
If you have an electric pump you can wire in a
MOMENTARY switch to power the pump before starting.
Run the pump for 3-4 seconds, pump the throttle and turn the key.
I have the same issue, and a defective, but not dead, fuel pump compounded the problem. New pump and AS valve took care of most of it, still have the mysterious self emptying fuel bowls though. One of our other members with an edelbrock (same as the weber) has dealt with the manufacturer who says it is not possible for the fuel to "wick" up and dribble down the carb throat to the intake, but that is exactly what it does. no fix for it, but at least we know how to deal with it.
