Hey guys,

couple quick questions about the tilt and trim pump i have.

1st question is... I noticed a tiny but of oil on my garage floor over this winter and noticed the pump is leaking ever so little at the white fitting you see in the picture.

Assuming possibly that odds are its just an o ring seal if I removed it?

How would I go about re filling the pump? should these be "refreshed" with fresh oil ever so often or?

Thanks for the help in advance!

so I got a chance to take a closer look and theres an O-ring around that white cap thats partially blown out..... Now the question is.. to change it im assuming ill need to bring the motor to full trim up position?

Just trying to make sure i get it set right before I crack it open and make a mess or end up with something worse.

You can somewhat see the oring partially pushed out here in the pic

That white plug is the input to the reservoir....for filling purposes. Engine all the way up. Full is when adding any more will run out the hole. Kind of fluid is per what's in it. If red use ATF, Merc doesn't say what type/brand. If clear, use Merc/Quicksilver PTT fluid....WW has it.

awesome thanks! just wanted to make sure I did it right.. i know the sticker says to trim motor fully up position.. but wasnt sure if that was refering to just the actualy lift and the motor was a different or what not.

Simple enough as the usual! The fluid is definitely red and I got some ATF laying around at home so bonus there.

Kind of odd the Oring just randomly blew out for no reason, I removed the battery for the winter and it was fine... only come late spring did I notice drip spots.
