Okay everyone, i have introduced myself for about a week now as having my first boat. Gonna fix it up. Electrical is working and that I would have lots of questions. Well time has come.
Today was day 1 of trying to start the engine. My buddy and I tried turning the key today to see what would happen. i had mentioned in earlier posts that I was going to clean the fuel tank, lines and carburetor prior to trying but then I had other posters tell me to just try to see if it will start before tearing anything apart.
I finally turned the key and all that happen was you could hear the solenoid click but that was it. My buddy tapped on the starter a couple of times, we tried again and it sounded like it wanted to do something due to a turning sound but then stopped. After repeated tries, all that happened was the solenoid click could be heard.
Could this be a bad starter? Is this something that I can repair? Are the very expensive to replace if this is the issue?
Thanks for any and all feedback.
