The port motor is giving an overheat or low oil alarm (alarm varies) as soon as I turn the key.
The thermostats are brand new and the oil is not low in both oil tanks (oil tank on the engine and main oil reservoir). My mechanic tested the engine and there are no problems at the engine.

The problem appears to be the wiring in the guages or the dual station controls. We replaced one of the dual station control boxes as well.

My mechanic got it running by cleaning up some of the wiring connections. It worked for 2 weeks and then the alarm started again. He explained the wiring is old and is suspect. He also explained these Yamaha dual station controls are very tricky and difficult to diagnose.

These dual station controls have worked great for 5 years. The dual station kit was installed new in 2000.

The downstairs guages are year 2000, upstairs is 1992. Should I replace all the old guages and wiring harnesses? Any thoughts or diagnosis tips to locate the alarm problem?
