1993 115 4cyl knocking

This motor has developed a definate knock at idle speed. <br />The knock seems to go away at wot but could be getting hidden by engine noise. Engine starts and runs with power fine but the knock has the owner worried and he does not want to run the motor. Any ideas what this noise could be and if it is damaging motor would be appreciated?

Do a compression test, and check all the oil line for brittleness or broken ness.. I have found that oil lines on motors that old will get brittle, and even break during normal engine use. Check it out.
