1993 - 2001 9.9 / 15 Maximum Spark Advance

The service manual states:

"No maximum spark advance adjustment is necessary. Correct primary lead position is all that is required to maintain proper ignition timing. Orange/blue lead must go to the top ignition coil."

Is it correct to assume these models do not need timing adjustments.
