1993 351 OMC Change Spark Plugs

What tool do I need to change the spark plugs without pulling the exhaust manifold off?

T handle wrench wont work any better than a socket on an extension. A regular 5/8 wrench won't quite get on the plug cleanly. I see a flex head line wrench but I am not sure that I can get it over the small part of the plug.

Is there such an animal as a flex open end wrench? I swore I saw one a month or so back somewhere but for the life of me I can't find it. I have googled for about an hour and haven't come up with anything.

I've heard about the pulling manifold nightmares to change plugs, All I can tell you is on my 1990 5.8 351 ford engine, the plugs I can change out in no time about half hour start to finish. I have a deepwell socket that accepts an open end wrench and it makes the job simple, my engine compartment is probably more forgiving than most.

A box end wrench works for me. No way can you get a socket on them.

93' must have a differently designed manifold, I'm just glad I don't have those problems. I would be looking at custom making my own offset box wrench.

I quess I'm just so used to changing plugs on a 428 shoehorned into a mustang that it makes the 351 in my boat a walk in the park nothing tricky, I just can't relate to the problems you all speak of, socket and a wrench 1/2hr job.

I am almost tempted to just let the marina do it along with full tune up for $175
