1993 60 hp Merc - Power loss

I recently purchased a used 1993 60 hp Merc. It runs good but periodically and without warning it loses power as though it is running on two cylinders. Sometimes it will cut in and out while running full throttle. I have checked the fuel pickup which seems to be ok. The plugs look fine. I am thinking that I might have a bad spark plug wire. Any thoughts on what the problem might be?<br /><br />Thanks for your help.<br />bill

Sounds like a ign. problem, next time it acts up ck it for spark, could be plug, wire, but is probably the switch box
