1993 cobra lower unit ?

I was wondering if the lower driveshaft pinion gear bearing should be caged or not?upon disassembly, I see mine is not.but looking up the part ,it looks caged.??

So I figure it's held in with grease,but comes with a sleeve to hold them there while shipping.

Hello, kinda late reply for you, and you probably have your problem solved already.

I'd recommend that you get a set of OMC repair manuals from eBay, because other than that and YouTube, there aren't many sources of information.

Good luck with your OMC. Parts can still be had. Everything can be fixed.
