The saga continues with the 115 (93 Evinrude) that I picked up. When trying to crank the motor, the old starter would not turn the motor over without stalling at the top of each compression stroke. I had the starter check by local shop and was told the starter was shot. They wanted more to rebuild than cost of a new starter.
Picked up a new starter and motor turns over better but not fast enough to start motor. When plugs are pulled the flywheel can be turned easily by hand. The ground cable (jumper cables) gets very hot with a few seconds of cranking. Also the fuse on the motor has been blown twice. Used two different batteries and both gave same results and are know to be in good shape.
Any suggestions on how to proceed from here?
Thanks
Allen
