1993 evinrude 150 cutting off at WOT

from idle to 5000 rpm runs perfect, put my foot into it for WOT and she cuts off, cranks right back up, runs perfect until WOT again.
what the heck!!!!????

Die out or off like switch?

like you turn the key off, cranks right back up no problem will run all day less than 5000 rpm, soon as you "hit it wot" she cuts off

Hitting a rev limiter ?-------Put a timing light on it to see if you loose spark.-----Perhaps look for a bare wire ( black / yellow stripe ) inside the control box.
