I have a 1993 Evinrude v4 90hp. Can someone help me with the spark plug gap size?? And also the Carburetors was removed and new gasket was installed but now I can’t get it to idle down.

It will run just fine with gaps at 0.030"---------What other trouble shooting has been done for idle issues ?

Thanks!! And none at all. The problem didn’t start until the Carburetor was removed to change the gaskets. I’m kinda lost here.

By "change the gaskets", do you mean installation of carburetor kits? (i.e., cleaned and rebuilt?) Don't mean to offend, just don't know how familiar you are with outboards (haven't looked at any of your other posts).

Sounds like you need to search "Lync and Sync" right AFTER you get a Factory Service Manual. I just told someone else that you can find those for digital download for around $20.00 and you'll have it practically immediately.

The absolute first thing to do on a motor like yours is a compression test.--Post your numbers.

Not rebuilt. Just had some gaskets that were leaking. The compression about 125 on all 4 cylinders. I have a service manual. This is My first motor boat. Do I need to take it to a small engine mechanic? Or is it something I can fix myself? I thought maybe it would be a easy fix and I hear the guys in this group are good.

You could try adjusting the throttle cable if it’s out of whack.. maybe clean the carburetors if you haven’t yet.. compression I’ve heard compression is supposed to be within 10% of each other not to sure on that, so don’t quote me on that. Lol
