1993 Mercury 25hp 2-stroke outboard leaks gas out of vent hole on integrated carb?

Hello all. I bought a used Smoker Craft with the merc 25hp 2-stroke. I rebuilt the carb with rebuild kit. No issues, I watched a boat load of rebuild videos. When I was done and had the outboard back together I primed the Ned fuel bulb and gas was shooting out of the integrated fuel pump vent hole. Why is that happening? What should I do to fix that? Fuel pump or Primer? If its the primer replace the diaphragm. If its the pump side make sure you used the correct gaskets.
