1993 Mercury Offshore 200hp

When I start this motor with the muffs on, I have water and exhaust coming out around the bolts at the bottom of the connecting arm for the transom bracket. This is just above the lower end on front of the mid section. Any Ideas?

From your description, it sounds like the adapter plate gasket. If it is, ya gotta remove the powerhead to replace it.<br /><br />c/6<br />Hooty

There are 2 plastic covers on each side of this area.2 screws each and they come off. Seems like this area is cracked or broken! Is this the "adapter plate"?

The areas you refer to are the lower shock mounts not the adaptor plate area. I don’t know what your best solution would be in this area maybe a new or used mid section?<br /><br />RFish >()>
