We rebuilt the Holley 2300 carburetor in August and the motor ran better than it has since I acquired the boat. It was winterized in December by my local servicer. While doing some work on the back seats, I noticed what appeared to be a liquid oozing out of the seal between the main body of the carb and the mounting base. It smells like gas.
With the boat having been sat up for two months, how can this be? If I understand things correctly, there is no fuel held in the carb except for what might be left in the fuel bowl. All seals around it are dry.
Any ideas?
