Hi all,

Long-time rebuild on 30' 1993 Party Hut.

Issue: everything runs great on this boat, but at higher speeds, engine starves of fuel unless primer bulb is pumped, then it's fine. My belief is that the previous owner used only ethanol gas in the boat, and that there is gunk/junk that's getting sucked up against the fuel hose filter inside the tank.

HOW in the world do I clean this thing out? It's built into the boat, and I can't get the nozzle that the fuel line is attached to off of the tank because it's apparently connected inside the tank somehow.

Thanks for any advice!

Squeezing the bulb to make it run points to the fuel pump. Having a bulb says outboard in 999 out of 1000 times.

Ageed. Rebuild or replace the fuel pump first. The engine starves for fuel because the fuel pump cannot deliver the required amount of fuel. If there was a restriction in the tank, the primer bulb would be sucked flat.

Silvertip- that makes PERFECT sense! GA_Boater and Marc c...thanks for the input! Ok- seems like there's a consensus here...is there any way to EASILY find the correct fuel pump or info on replacing?

Generally, the fuel pump is an integral part of the engine. Proper parts to rebuild (generally the plan vs. replacing) dependent on engine make/model/year.

If you us tell what you have. Otherwise all we can say is rebuild the fuel pump.
