I have a 1993 Rinker FV 260 with a 5.7. It has an odd ignition switch system. There is a key pad that when the correct code is entered it powers the start switch. Anyway, last night when I was doing some stereo modifications I was un hooking some wires from what I believe is the ignition module / ECM for the boat. Now I can't get the switch to power up. How would I go about getting the wiring diagram for this module so I can hook it back up properly. image1.JPG

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,... Rinker don't build the motors, nor the drives, so What have ya got,..??

I'm guessin' the thingy with the key pad is aftermarket, so I haven't a clue as to just what it is,.....

Schematic.JPG Thank you, glad to be aboard. It's a Mercruiser, 5.7 Bravo II. There was a copy of the wiring schematic with the original paperwork, but none of the colors on this schematic match the colors of wires coming out of this box. Nore can I find anything that looks like this box on the schematic.

Sooo, prior to me getting any more pictures on here a question came up. Is there a way to revert back to a factory / OEM module? Put something back in with a normal key switch. I realize I'd have to get a new control box to hook all the gages, neutral switch, etc, back into. Wondering if there is a one size fits all type of kit for this circumstance. I ask this because I've had issues with the key pad before and cannot find any manufacturer identification on any of the components in this system. Seems like a good time to swap it all out.

Ayuh,.... At this point, We donno what it is, nor how it's wired up,....

Best case, you could just pull it, 'n toss it, then rewire it to original,.....

In other words, it's probably wired onto the original wirin', not replacin' the original wirin',.....
