1993 volvo penta sp-c trim sender and gauge

I have a 1993 welcraft excel 20sx the drive is an sp-c , when I bought the boat it didn't have a trim guage in the dash just a hole for it , it looks like the wires that supposed to go to it is in a connector and the gauge I bought has 4 poles no connector do I just cut the connector and hook up the wires to the gauge? And what wires would go where? My sender has 3 wires coming out of it

Any help would be greatly appreciated
