I just bought a 1994 25hp Johnson with electric start and was wondering does the positive wire from the battery go to the solenoid or directly to the starter? It's the end with the red boot. Right? My current motor an 1982 Evinrude 15hp has the positive battery cable going directly to the starter motor which caught a couple of people off guard on one of my previous posts. Another question, can I use my double lever Evinrude simplex (1982) on the 1994 Johnson 25hp I just bought. I know my old 15HP had a safety devise in the motor that wouldn't let you start the motor while the boat was in forward or reverse. Also, thanks for all of your previous answers to my "greenhorn" questions.
