Re: 1994 50 hp rude

OK,thanks.A friend of mine bought a Lowe 17ft aluminum bass boat with a 94 rude 50 hp 2 cyl last year and it would never go above 4500 rpm.I have never looked at the carbs on this motor, can someone tell me if they would be like my 88 spl with no adjustments or will they need adjusted after a rebuild?Almost forgot it has a 15 pitch prop/aluminum.Seems to be the original prop. I'm assuming it is already propped right cause i had a 50 merc on a 16 ft bass tracker with a 15 P prop and it did fine unless i had more than 3 people which was almost to much for the boat anyway.
Ant suggestions would be appreciated.

the newer motors 94 and up did go back to an idle mixture screw, along with a low speed fixed jet. they are simple to adjust, just do one at a time. diagramshttp://shop2.evinrude.com/ext/index.aspx?s1=bf6ad09c53cead335fcfd8a6471c0f7f--
