I have ordered a tach to check Idle and wot rpm's on my motor. I have looked in my manual and can't find the # of times the piston fires per revolution.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

If it is a normal outboard tach then there will be instructions on how to set it up and which position the pointer should be in. Should also be able to find that info online at the manufacturers website. What tach is it?

BTW, Welcome aboard.

Thanks for the info. The tach was ordered from ebay. It's a Tach/Hour. I have ordered some bits for the motor and the tach. The motor is new to me and I am reading the manual for a tune up. Too much time waiting I guess.

A 2 stroke engine fires the plug every time the piston approaches the top of the cylinder to burn the fuel.---Most small 4 strokes do the same and also fire the plug on the exhaust stroke.
