Where and how to do adjust the idle? out of the water the rpms were around 1000 ran fine, in the watere its around 600 and wants to cut off and does, back fires once in a while also plus it seems to loose prime in the ball after it runs for a few mins

Bulb does not need to be hard when motor is running !-----They all run fine on a hose and will sound nice on 4 of 6 cylinders.-------Post compression values and check for spark on all leads.

They are all new spark plugs and compression are good 125 127 130 125 130 128, i believe it just a matter of adjusting the idle but not sure where to adjust it

OK new sparkplugs.-----But sparkplugs do not MAKE THE SPARK and you need to check for spark that jumps a gap of 3/8" on each lead.----A separate testing device is used for that !!

Are you talking idle MIXTURE or idle SPEED. Idle MIXTURE may be non-adjustable on that motor. Idle speed is all part of the link & sync process. You need a service manual to do that process correctly. Start in the middle and you will chase your tail.
