1994 Force 120 Zinc anode appearance

zincanodepic2.jpgzincanodepic1.jpg Take a look at the attached photos. Are these "zinc anodes" in need of replacement? The 94 Force has spent it entire life being used in fresh water. What could happen if they were never changed?

That's nothing.
The zincs are primarily for salt water.
Fresh water use, I wouldn't worry.

OK, thanks. However I read something that mine are actually aluminum anodes? Is that correct? Does that change anything? Once again, I'm a Wisconsin fresh water boater, the motor has spent its life in fresh water.

No the zincs aren't aluminum.
Might look like it when they're new?
Even in fresh water there's some corrosion, dissimilar metals working against each other.
That's why the wear on the zincs.
