If sometimes it has spark and sometimes doesn't???
Then the fuel if pumped up right shouldn't matter?
The push button is it clear?

The intermittent spark might be the kill switch??

the push button is black. it has a kill switch with a lanyard and a stop button on the end of the handle. I started it up the other day, ran around the lake and slowed down to adjust idle. got it set the best I could and went back to the dock. shut it off and it wouldn't restart, no spark. the next day I pulled the carb and inspected it. looked good and reinstalled. she started right up and ran great. shut her off. later that day went to start it...no spark. how do I bypass the kill/stop switches? just disconnect them?

You'll probably have to hook the ends together on the kill switch.
I wouldn't mess with the stop button unless you know it's a problem.
The if it is??? replace it as trying to shut down a motor isn't as easy as it seems.
If you choke it to kill? that just makes it harder to start later.

I disconnected the black/yelo wire from the stop button on the handle and it has spark again.
