Engine would not idle without pressing the primer and would miss and seem to fire on only one cyl at 1/4 throtle but would run fine at 1/2 throttle to WOT. I took it to an outboard repair shop with instructions to tune the engine, clean or re-build the carbs as needed, adjust and synchrinize so engine would idle in neutral and operate at all ranges of throttle. Replace or clean fuel pump filter as need, check fuel block and replace if needed, check wirine for loose connections or frays and repair or replace as needed.<br /><br />The shop cleaned the carbs, put in new plugs and adjusted the linkage for sync.<br /><br />I put the boat in the water and it idles but seems to be only firing on and off on one cyl. and up to 1/4 throttle as mentioned above.<br /><br />What might cause the engine to miss at idle and low speed but run great at WOT? I will return the engine to the repair shop to try and correct the problem but would like some imput to maybe mention to the mechanic in a respectful way.
