Hi,

I've got a 1994 Mariner 40 (serial 0G082938, 2-stroke, 2-cyl), and need some help on two problems;

1) The warning horn doesn't work. I just got the engine and have started to figure things out. It seems the previous owner at least has disconnected the oil level sensor, because I can locate two ligh blue wires sticking out from underneath the oil reservoir. In electrical schema I saw that the two wires shall connect to the TPM module (Timing & Protection), but where is it? Sorry if this seems stupid, but can someone guide me to where to connect the two light blue wires?

2) I got a second hand tachometer (QuickSilver 6000 rpm) and connected it directly to the wires from the 5-pin connector on the remote Control (Commander 2000). All seem hooked up fine, but the reported RPM seems a bit high on idle. I've set the tach to "4p" as instructed by a table on Mercury's site for my engine, but the tach shows about 1400-1500 RPM. It sounds much lower, perhaps somewhere around 800 RPM. If I set the tach to "6p", RPM's seems more accurate. Whats the correct setting for my engine?

Thanks alot for any help!
