I replaced the spark plugs/wires and fuel filter assembly Saturday and the engine is running better then ever however it smokes ALOT. Could it be the mixture screw not adjusted properly? The smoke is white and is present in neutral all the way through full throttle. I ran it for about three hours on and off and the smoke was consistent.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

do a compression check also you might want to try fesh fuel and oil mixture gas to oil ratio calculator http://www.csgnetwork.com/oilfuelcalc.html set your gallons then put 50:1 ratio for the proper mixture shake well half of the oil with the fuel then add the rest of the oil to the gas

OK. I have the mixture a little rich. It calls for 5.12 oz ( for 2 gallons)and I put in about 6 oz. Would this be enough of a difference to account for the amount of smoke? I should also say I added 1 oz for 2 gallons of Sea Foam for good measure. This is half of what they recommend for regular use ( not cleaning carbs etc.)

Thanks for the info. I just bought a compression tester on ebay and will take a reading as soon as it arrives. Just curious, what is the next step if the compression is low?

Thanks again.
