I just bought a 94 sundowner. Noticed a bit a water stain on the iside of the bow ceiling from about mid-hatch forward. (when I bought it I assumed the water came from someone leaving the hatch open) I had a marine surveyer tell me that the hatch seal was no good and rain has been getting in from around the hatch (for a long time) and has rotted the wood beneath the top coat. He said the exterior "top" of the bow is in very good condition and that the headliner should be removed (along with the rotted wood) from inside the cuddy and then hire someone to repair the fibreglass from the inside.
I bought the boat from a dealer and have a warranty. They asked me to get a quote to repair it.....or I can return the boat.
Can anyone recommend a good Northern or Central Michigan repair business? Any idea of cost (1500-2000)?
