Happy Labor day!! May not be using correct term but the plastic shifter
linkage/lever which engages the motor from fwd to neutral and into reverse when shifting controler. On starboard side of motor .Shifts into fwd and neutral without issue but has been randomly breaking the linkage piece when engaging into reverse.Any ideas why??? I have a spare lower that i will be changing out after this season which I assume will put an end to this.I engaged into reverse by hand manually and it did have a pretty violent kickback whereas i wouldn't recommend trying it with bare hands.

Your throttle and shift cable need to be adjusted. If they can not be then perhaps your shift rob height needs to be adjusted.. Also I do not think any amount of glue, epoxy or other fix besides a new shift linkage will work for you. Cut loose dude. Of course it keeps breaking.
