1995 175 EFI

Engine seems to run fine, no miss or hesitation but there is a vibration between 1000 rpm & 1800 rpm that shakes not only the motor but the whole boat. It does it in gear or in neutral. It comes out of it at 15-1800 rpm and runs very smooth then. I did some work on the SS prop myself and replaced water pump impeller myself. Concerned about possible lower shaft damage, don't think so but if that were the case I would think it would not improve at higher rpm's. Could I be dealing with a carb problem or electrical problem? I also had to replace voltage regulators last fall.

For everyone's info....just talked to a Merc tech who assured me what I am experiencing is a low rpm condition caused by exhaust gases moving around the prop. I have never noticed this with any other motor I've owned but he says it can be common and is only noticed when boat is not up on plane and is at lower rpm's. Nothing you can do to improve it, but nothing to worry about either. Any response to this would be appreciated!
