time last week. Got it back together and now no water flow whatsoever coming out of top port. Suppose I'll have to take the lower unit off and retrace my steps. Does anyone have any idea what I did wrong?

By the way, this motor is 8 years old and the original impeller was in fine shape. I'm kicking myself for replacing it. Trying to get ready for a little fall crappie fishing soon so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Don't kick yourself for replacing it, as it will be good experience for the future, and they do need to be replaced every so often. Check to see if you have the impeller in the right way. The vanes need to point in the right direction. Check if the key is still in the slot .
You can look here too.
http://www.diy-boat.com/Pages/Archives/links/eng982.html

Sounds like you didn't line up with your water tube. Are you sure you put in the impeller drive key?

Thanks for responding guys. The impeller has a small notch on the inside. I assume when you say "impeller key" you are talking about lining this notch up correctly or is there some other key to which you are referring. I suspect that perhaps the water tube did not get aligned correctly but there is only one way to find out. I ran the motor for about two minutes and there was a distinct air pressure coming out of the top port, but no water.
