1995 50hp evinrude stopped dead

hi have a 95 50 hp evinrude that was running good then suddenly stopped .now no spark what so ever from either of the three not even a slight tinggle or thats what the wife says when i had hold onto spark lead he he

Robert.... Remove the spark plugs, then disconnect the large RED main electrical plug at the engine. If you now have spark, in all probability the ignition switch is shorted.<br /><br />If still no spark, I would suspect the powerpack. There could be other causes but these two are the most likely.

thanks joe . so i should disconnect the main red wireing harness and try pull staring to check for spark???

Robert.... Use a small jumper wire to connect from the battery side of the starter solenoid to the small 3/8" nut that attaches the energizing wire (not the ground wire) to the solenoid. That will crank the starter so you can check the spark.
