I replaced the gimbal bearing and everything going through the gimbal housing in January 2021, and this season (2025) the driveshaft bellows was torn. I want to make sure the next bellows set is OEM and I find the Quicksilver brand for $89 but the Mercury Mercruiser brand is $125-$160 and I'm not sure which brand I used. I realize the parts from these different brands are supposed to be the same, but should I spend the extra to get the Mercury label?

As an aside, I'm tired of the exhaust bellows falling off. The Mercury Marine parts catalogue does not seem to have an exhaust tube listed for this drive. Any suggestions for sourcing this? Does the drive even really need a bellows or tube? Thanks.

Concerning the exhaust tube I bought mine on Ebay part #78458A1 which is OEM. But to be honest this is one part that you could absolutely get by with after market. As long as it fits snug that's all you need. You could also just cut your exhaust bellows in half and leave the transom side connected.

Mercury and quicksilver are the exact same part. Quicksilver is their label outside their dealer network. Just verify it is an actual quicksilver part not aftermarket

👍 I was actually thinking of cutting my exhaust bellows also, I bought an exhaust tube recently, I may actually just cut the exhaust bellows and not use the exhaust tube now, one less thing to do as I have to do my drive shaft bellows very soon, after I replace the Gimbal bearing.
