Hello All. First post EVER.... I have the above stated boat and engine combo and keep having overcharging issues. I am working on my 3rd alternator and don't want to pay for another.. Here we go. It starts with my volts slowly creeping up to well over 16-16.6, this is on my gauge and multi meter. then it will trip one of my 50A breakers. boat run rough, shut it off , reset the breaker, then runs fine again.untill i cruise for a few more min., I replaced the breaker as i thought it may be weak but still having a problem. the front one. I am not sure of the wiring now that the local boat shop repaired it. There is big orange wire (positive i assume... 
) black to ground, a small purple wire that was hooked up to AC tap, and a bigger gauge purple one with a jumper that goes to the sense and excite..?? (is this my regulator built into the alternator?) Im lost, any info or wiring diagram would be awesome. Is there a external regulator i'm missing??
I can not figgure this one out, I took it to my local dealer and same thing again on alternator #2. Any help would be much appreciated.
