1995 evinrude 10 hp 20 inch rope start

I filled the lower unit with oil last night until it came out of the top hole, it took almost the whole tube ,I started it in a barrel of water, some water was coming out of the exaust port on top of motor not very much .When I took it out of the water notice oil was leaking from propeller not very much either ,could this be a problem or did I overfill it ?

Normal. That is where the exhaust, including unburned fuel/oil, exit.

I was ready to buy a gasket kit as I did not know that the oil and ETC had to come out from the prop and exaust port .
