Ok befor eyou guys say this the manual is on order. I was out today boat ran great all day parked in a cove for a while started motor it ran ok for about 20 seconds and then shut off. Would not restart at all. I tried for over an hour with my luck nothign and my seculded fishing hole was so secluded nobody came by either. Also checked the bulb it was ok. I removed the cover and i really dont know what i am looking at but i saw a round pump looking object has a red tab on it this is on the right side of the motor looking at it from the rear. It also has what looks like a tire valve stem in the unit . I moved the little red tab and the motor fired right off i moved it back and she died is this some sort of fuel pressure/cutoff valve. I only been to the lake twice with this boat. I hope this is all that was wrong

regads

That red lever is part of the primer solenoid. Moving the lever as you did, essentially made it a manual choke. If the engine started and then died when you moved it back would indicate a fuel delivery problem. The primer solenoid should click when you push in on the key. If it doesn't you need to check the solenoid. You still need to figure out what the fuel delivery problem is. Could be bad fuel pump, line restriction, clogged tank vent, loose hose fittings, carb issues, tank pickup clogged, to name a few.

Also when i did move the red lever and the boat ran it ran fine for around a hour before i left the lake i let it idel for about 20 mins if not more never missed a lick also the wot ran fine as well could it just be that silonoid? Also is that red tab sappose to be in one position or another or does the silonoid automatically move it where she needs to be perhaps it was moved to manual choke before i touched it and that helped it not sure. Checked all lines are new bulb new tank vent is good is there a way to monitor the fuel pump and see if its working properly

The red lever does not move by itself. If is there to provide a means of manually choking the engine should the solenoid fail. The lever should normally point forward. Manual mode is vertical (or 90 degrees to the solenoid body). Did you do the primer solenoid check I mentioined? To check the fuel pump, pull the kill switch lanyard to disable the ignition. Disconnect the fuel line at the point where it splits to feed both carbs. Put that end of the line into a bottle and have someone turn the key to start for a few seconds. If you get a good stream from the pump its ok. If not - it's rebuild time.

when i opened the cowling up the lever was facing more upward i sappose counter clock wise but wasnt all the way one way or another. Again this is a recently purchaed used boat. Thats why i think it could of been a factor due to it not being in auto nor in full manual mode!!!. I did the check and fuel is flowing nicely. so could the primer set mostly to manaul be causing the prob and causing a flodding senstaion sorta.!!!
