1995 Evinrude 50 hp oil tank

I have just pruchased this everything seems to run fine i was at the lake this past sunday and everything ran good i did get the oil alarm twice at different times one chrip every 40 seconds this sounded twice on both occasions. I was told by a friend that could of been air since i just filled the oil resevoir i did check the bulb it was good and pumped. Also he mentioned something as to a oil sock or filter in the oil tank is there one inside the tank that needs to be periodically replaced.<br /><br />Regards<br />toondude

pntoon....There is a filter sock at the bottom of the tank on the pickup. Check all of your oil lines for any cracks or brittle spots, check around any clamps, this will cause an air leak.
