Short and sweet:
1995 Force by Mercury 40hp. Squeeze the bulb and it fires up immediately. Power up and it accelerates without hesitation 5-10 seconds...then shuts down like it's run out of gas. Squeeze the bulb and it fires right up...accelerates...quits........etc., etc., etc.
Here's what I've checked/done:
1. Pulled fuel strainer out of the tank and it's clean.
2. Checked the anti-siphon fitting at the tank and it appears to work normally.
3. Changed the fuel filter.
4. Checked all the fuel lines from tank to carb...no leaks or pinches.
5. Changed the squeeze bulb.
6. Disconnected the fuel line both before and after the fuel filter, squeezed the bulb, and fuel shot out.
Now here's the question: Does this sound like the symptoms of a fuel pump in need of repair?
Thanks.......
