1995 force No spark

I recently had the starter bracket welded back on the powerhead. I removed the flywheel, unpluged all the wired from powerpack etc and un hooked the negitive battery cable before it was welded. The guy who welded it said he could smell something burning.The ground wire that runs from the solenoid through the plug all the way to the switch was completly melted. I replaced the whole wire and now the motor has no spark. Does anyone have any suggestions what could have happened. thanks alot

sounds like your cdi boxes are burnt. check the resistance of your stator the set wires oe stator should be 600-800 ohms. your trigger circuit should be 50 ohms for each trigger cylinder. check outboardignition.com for trouble shooting and test procuders. they are the best priced also
