The engine is over heating at around 3500-4000 rpms. I installed a new impeller which was shot and retrieved the shredded rubber rebuilt the water pump on the motor. I flushed the water hoses and the hydro. cooler . It still over heats any ideas fellas?

Belts slipping? Mine has run hot with belts that were too loose.

Ayuh,.... Have ya pulled any hoses when runnin' to see where the waters goin', or not,..??

If the impeller is movin' water Into the motor,....
That water's gotta get Out, so check the exhaust for blockages at the dump ports,...

By the way. You technically have an OMC Cobra, but it is the same as a Volvo Penta SX drive. So, when looking for solutions to problems you may encounter, it can get confusing when posting on OMC forums, because it is a joint partnership drive and the same as the new style Volvo SX drive. The old OMC Cobra issues aren't applicable to the drive that you own. It's the same drive as the one I have. DonS, former MOD on iboats gave me the manuals for that drive years ago.
