Hi friends! First time poster. Just bought a fixer upper with a 1995 Johnson 130 4cyl. (J130TLEO) I'm pretty mechanically savvy but need some help. No experience with outboards.
Fuel seems fine, compression seems fine. I'm chasing a no spark issue. My first question is in regard to my stator. Resistance between my two orange wires is about 94 ohms and between my two yellows is maybe 1-2 ohms. Thinking that was too low, I ordered a new stator on eBay. New one has same readings. Am I missing something with Stator resistance readings? I think I saw online they're supposed to both be like 450-650 ohms.
Additionally, I've removed all my plugs, hooked up my meter to the two orange wires from the stator and started the motor. The flywheel spins at high speed (no plugs) but I only ready about 75 volts from the stator. Same reading on my original stator and the new one. Also thought I read that I should be seeing 150+ volts.
Any help is hugely appreciated! New territory for me. Thanks!
