Go to your nearess dealer, they can also help with any missing hardware to mount the prop.

There is no single right prop for that motor. You can fit any of several props. That's why you were told to visit your dealer. It all depends on your boat and how you plan to use the motor.

R.Johnson was giving you good advice. Lighten up, please, and listen to the excellent advice he gave you.

Since we have no idea whether this engine is on a pontoon boat, fishing boat, or work barge, we have no idea what to recommend since a number of props are available for most engines. You need a prop that will allow the engine to operate at 5000 - 5500 RPM at wide open throttle with the load you will normally carry. That may be a 13 if the engine is on a pontoon. 17 for a medium sized fishing boat, and 15 for a runabout. Without a tach to indicate wide open throttle rpm, whatever you do will be a guess.

Wasn’t concerned about the pitch, just the size and spline count. I don't have the engine was looking to buy it but it has no prop on it at all and I was trying to do was to just get an idea on the size only.
Just for fishing not into the (WOT) stuff, get me from point (A) to pint (B) and back home.

And (BTW) I thought this site was for people helping out, not sending them to a dealer site!
If someone doesn’t have an answer they should comment!
Thanks for your help!

Here's the reason I suggested a dealer. You are saying the engine has no prop. Does it have the spacer to go behind the prop, the splined washer that goes on the face, under the castle nut. Do you have these parts? You can't just slide a prop on the shaft with a nut, and a cotter pin. Your right! I don't have a clue as to what prop you need. Go to a dealer, and tell him, what you have told us. You are going to get the prop that he has,nt been able to give away for the last ten years.

Sometimes, helping someone out means sending them to a dealer. We all go to dealers. We buy parts from them, and sometimes we get useful advice from the technicians there.

Sometimes that IS the answer. You may not like that answer, but it is a valid answer. In many cases, it's the best answer.

As far as I am concerned, your comment that someone shouldn't comment is out of place here. This is a public forum. You ask a question...people answer with their best advice. If you don't care for the advice, you can simply ignore it.

R.Johnson beat me to the advice he gave. Mine would have been the same. There's no call for ragging on people who are giving you advice here. It's not as though they were getting paid for it.

If all you wanted was the diameter and number of splines, that should have been your question. Instead, you asked what the "right prop" was for that outboard. That's a different question.

Prop diameter for that engine is 12-1/2 down to 11-3/4 depending on the pitch and manufacturer. Just so you know, diameter has less effect on performance than pitch. Too little pitch and the engine overrevs and destroys itself. Too much pitch and the engine lugs and destroys itself. Correct pitch makes for a happy motor as well as happy owner. Don't spend money on a prop until you have a boat to mount the engine on. Then let us know what you have and we can be a little more specific.
